About

Built in the 1600’s it was first called The Blue Boar in 1739 and the story began... This story continues as The Blue Boar has now undergone another reincarnation, with a return to the cosy cheer of “the local”.

We aim to supply home cooked food in a relax social dinning experience. Blessed with great local suppliers on our doorstep, including "Local to Ludlow" markets means we have an ever varying menu working with availability as it arises. We don't do starched table cloths or frilly stacked and drizzled meals we do great quality fresh cooked homemade pub food.

Our house wines and the "treat yourself" range are all supplied by well respected Bentleys and we endeavour to support local bakers, butchers and suppliers and our standard is fresh, homemade and local.

Upstairs in The Sitting Room we supply space for community and local non profit groups to meet as well as Poetry Lounge nights, Film, a monthly Quiz, The Song House and the venue is used as part of Ludlow Fringe. We are always proud to support and sponsor get Arts locally as well as the community as a whole.

Real Ales are always increasing in popularity and a bar mainstay with regulars Hobsons and Three Tuns - one of the longest running brewery's in the country - served in a tankard if you wish!

The Blue Boar is as it has been throughout its more than 300 year history a place to meet friends and make new ones, or to take some quiet time out alone in the courtyard. Taking some of our inspiration from George Orwells "moon under water" essay The Blue Boar is here for locals and visitors, young and old who enjoy a good pint and a good old chin wag.
